Scripture Memory is Better Together
How has memorizing Scripture helped you in your walk with the Lord, your relationships, and your fight for faith? Over the past year I've experienced the Lord's help through His Word to fight fear, work at improving difficult friendships, and resist temptation. He's done this by bringing verses I've memorized to mind in moments of need.
Now I want to share this experience with others. How about you? Who might you invite to memorize with you in 2022? Folks in your small group, someone you're discipling, your children, a spouse? We've made it easy to tell others about Fighter Verses, and for them to start memorizing verses, by creating a free download—the Fighter Verses Guide to Scripture Memory. Everyone who signs up for the e-newsletter will receive a free download of the Guide.
We're so thankful for the many believers who have joined us in the past, memorizing Scripture to fight the good fight of faith. As we embark on another year and seek to steward it for God's glory, we're excited to start memorizing another set of verses.
Several of the passages jump out for their ability to direct our thoughts going into January:
For God gave us a spirit not of fear but of power and love and self-control. (2 Timothy 1:7)
Teach me your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. (Psalm 86:11)
You make known to me the path of life; in your presence there is fullness of joy; at your right hand are pleasures forevermore. (Psalm 16:11)
For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal. (2 Corinthians 4:17-18)
For all the resolutions people will make in the next week, committing to memorize Scripture tops the list of fruitful ways believers can spend their time. We pray this free guide will renew zeal for Bible memorization and encourage those you love to join you in this essential spiritual discipline.
